Pres spox says no report on govt structure seen from new PM
MOSCOW, Jan 20 (PRIME) -- New Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has not reported on the new structure and lineup of the government to President Vladimir Putin, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
“If such a report had taken place, we would have informed you of that. The deadline (set by the constitution) has not yet come,” Peskov said.
According to Peskov, Mishustin can present either the candidates for the ministers or only the government structure. “Various scenarios are possible as they see fit, the president and the chairman of the government, in this case,” he said.
Mishustin, who had headed the Federal Tax Service, was appointed as the country’s prime minister on January 16 after the previous government resigned on January 15.
In accordance with the Russian constitution, the prime minister must present a report on the new government to the president in a week after appointment.
